New UK based guitar shop website stocking guitar parts such as DevilTone pickups

That is the question.

I’ve been producing the podcast for over two and a half years now (off and on). During that time it’s always continued to grow. Listener numbers have increased month after month, even when I wasn’t releasing any new podcasts. Now it’s time to produce another show and I find myself wondering once more if it’s worth it.

I’m not sure why, but I don’t find myself as excited as I used to be at this time of the month. Something seems to have been lost over the last couple of years. When I first started the podcast I had two aims.

1. Help unsigned musicians to reach a wider audience.

2. Introduce listeners to new music.

I think the podcast has achieved both of these aims. However, I get the feeling that the music industry has changed since I started the podcast, as have listener habits and the methods used by musicians to get their music heard. I receive far less submissions from musicians than I used to, probably because it’s so much easier to release your music now. Feedback from listeners has also dropped substantially.

Maybe I’ve lost my way slightly with the podcast. Maybe podcasts just aren’t as important as they used to be.

Either way I find myself asking the question, to podcast or not to podcast?

I’m not sure of the answer at the moment.

MP3 October 01 2009 – Show 22

Welcome to the twenty-second Ambient Falls podcast.

It’s a short podcast this month. I’m not really sure why but for some reason it seemed to feel right with just these four tracks. Adding another purely to make it longer didn’t seem like the right thing to do so I left it short but sweet. I hope you enjoy it.

Artemis – Beautiful Life
Chris Harvey – Tensor
Evolve – August Moon
Mystic Village – Calmly It Gives

I’ve spent the morning uploading all the podcasts to Mixcloud.

It seems like a cool site so if you are already a user add the podcast to your follow list or sign up and give it a try if you don’t already use it.

Welcome to the twenty-first Ambient Falls podcast.

I hope you all had a good summer. The weather here in the UK seems to have switched to winter mode already. As you probably noticed, the podcast took a break last month to recharge in the sun but now it’s back and ready to brighten your day. Some excellent tracks for you this month. My personal favourite is Kalimayantra by Hands Upon Black Earth.

Laserlong – Departure
Saros – Searching for the Breadcrumb Navigator
Grünfeld – The Wilderness
Hands Upon Black Earth – Kalimayantra

Do You Need A Website?

If you do I would really recommend you take a look at Lunarpages Website Hosts.

Lunarpages.com Web Hosting

I’ve been using Lunarpages for many years now and would not even consider another web host. For a low monthly fee of just $4.95 I get unlimited bandwidth, unlimited storage and a free domain name.

There are no setup cost, unlimited add-on domains, sub domains, parked domains and support for various scripts.

Lunarpages also provide you with unlimited email accounts, E-Commerce solutions and a range of amazing web scripts such as SMF Forum, Wordpress, blogs, photo albums and website templates.

All of this alone would be a great reason to choose Lunarpages for your hosting needs but lets face it, this would be pointless if they were unreliable like some hosts. I’ve used poor hosts in the pasts and had to deal with my sites being unavailable for hours at a time and poor support. With Lunarpages Web Hosts you can look forward to 99.9% uptime and amazing customer service if you need it.

They offer a whole range of web hosting solutions so whether you’re an individual looking to host just one personal site or you’re looking to run a number of online businesses, Lunarpages will have the solution for you.
